Random {Inspirational Stories}

Don't go sneering at the title :-). I couldn't find an apt title for this post so "Random" seemed like it would do the job. You know how I discover gems and feel compelled to share? Well, I discovered an awesome Inspirational YouTube channel that I know you will love. I came across this you tube channel - This Is My Story and I can't seem to get enough of it. Won't even attempt to tell you the number of times I've watched some of the videos while others have become my daily dose of inspiration. I love the rawness and sincerity of the story tellers - most of whom are public figures/celebrities. Indulge and be sure to pass it on to others, you never know who you will encourage.

Watching Your Tongue

It is vital that as Christians, we learn how to watch our tongues. The tongue is a very tiny part of our bodies yet as James describes it in Verse 6, it is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body that can set the whole course of one's life on fire. Despite there being no human being that can tame the tongue, the Lord still expects us to be careful with it. I like the challenge posed in Verses 11 & 12 - "Can both fresh water and salty water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water." Simply put, if we count ourselves Christians...no unwho...

Thorn In My Flesh

Have you ever come across characters that keep getting on your nerves, drive you up the wall & stretch your patience to unimaginable limits? It's like a stubborn itch that no matter how hard you scratch, it just won't go away. I like to refer to such as a Thorn in the flesh - some sort of necessary evil. Paul talked about it in his letter to the church in Corinth and I drew a couple of lesson I'd like to share. The Thorn Keeps You In Check As an apostle, Paul did great works in spreading the gospel of Christ and as such was considered one of the most important figures of the apostolic age and also described as one of the greatest missionaries of all time. With this accomplishment it was very easy for him to boast of his works but he makes it clear that he will not. 2 Corinthians 12:5 " but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses . Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so...
