ODA {Online Display Of Affection}

I have been keenly following the interesting debate surrounding online display of affection by married couples & dating couples and figured I might as well delve into that in this post. Disclaimer: The views expressed herein are just personal opinion & some input from a couple of friends not professional advice, so don't go quoting me a'ight :-).

War Room - The Movie

  After much hype surrounding the release of War Room last year, I got a chance to watch it towards the end of December - 4 months after it hit the theaters :-). It was the talk of town for a while and back in the U.S, it climbed the charts to become No. 1 at the Box Office. Awesome movie this one. I watched it with a few friends and each of us had a burning desire to up our War Room engagement as a matter of urgency. Not that our prayer lives were wanting, but watching this movie pushed us to the realization that there was still much more we needed to do, we were only scratching the surface as far as prayer goes. My favorite character is Miss Clara {Karen Abercrombie}. This woman is all shades of persistent & annoying rolled into one, a Never-Take-No kinda woman. I was on a mission, my "War Room" game had to be upped and I was right on track until I got derailed by the Christmas festivities - lame excuse...I know huh!!! After the holidays were done and I came bac...

Never Give Up

Derek Redmond is a retired British athlete - his determination & drive to get to the finish line 24 years ago during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics remains unforgettable. For him, what was important was to get to that finish line no matter what. That singular act has inspired and keeps inspiring many, I included. Read on and I pray that the video ignites a spark & lights a raging fire in you to Never Give Up. "The unforgettable story of Great Britain's 400m runner Derek Redmond, whose hamstring snapped during his event but was determined to finish the race at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. Derek Anthony Redmond didn't win a medal at the Barcelona Olympics. In fact, the British 400m runner didn't even make it past the semi-final stage. But it was his determination to finish that will live forever in the minds of millions. Injury forced the Briton to withdraw from the 1988 Seoul Games just ten minutes before the start of his 400m heat, so Redmond f...

Nigerian Turn Up: Yemi Alade - Na Gode

You gotta give it to Nigerian Artists. Creative and very flexible. I still wonder why Kenyans complain so much about their music receiving massive airplay on Kenyan media. If something is good, its good kama kitu ni poa..ni poa alah. I believe it is always important to give credit where it is due. Yemi Alade's Na Gode - Swahili version is quite something. Her Swahili is very much on point considering she is Nigerian. I love this jam, it got me doing a jig and the lyrics are lovely.  The Nigerian version also blew me away though I don't understand the language. Enjoy :-).   Eh eh oh oh, oh oh Sugar!!! Baba I thank You, Oluwa Na Gode o Yemi Alade iye eh eh Selebobo dey hia o! Chineke Na Gode o Person wey hustle suppose to chop E supposed to pop, e suppose to chill ebelebe Person wey work suppose to dance, e suppose to rock E suppose to flex ebelebe iye eh eh But don’t you forget iyo say no be by might iyo, Always be thankful o Oluwa Na Gode ...

Mid-day Musings

Ever had those moments where your life flashes in front of you and you silently wonder "what the hell have I been doing!!!! Worry not, it ain't spooky :-), I get some of those reality check moments once in a while especially when I get to a crossroad and I'm faced with a make or break kinda decision. Several thoughts were doing rounds in my head this time round and I figured I need to write them down. For starters, I don't intend to make this a super long post as these were just random thoughts that popped into my head in no particular order. Before we get to it though, kindly reflect and think about whether you are merely getting through life like a zombie or if you are actively ceasing every moment you are alive. I have made it a habit that each morning I wake up; I get out of bed, stretch and take a long deep breathe just to feel the cool air making its way down my wind pipe {Try this, I'm sure you'll love the feeling}. I whisper a gratitude prayer for the...
