2019

Happy New Year. We're 17 days into the year or better still, 348 days till call it a wrap. I thank God for getting safely to 2019, I do not for one moment take it for granted. My year started beautifully well and as usual I do not take part in resolution making but instead I write down what I want to achieve in the year and break it down to simple every day tasks/goals I can work at.

This year, I'm doing it a bit differently though and I'm excited to share - I'm putting together a Vision Board. Yes, I've never done one before so excuse the excitement. I'm having so much fun visualizing exactly what I want to achieve and putting it together. It's not yet complete but so far, so good. One of the main things I'm looking forward to doing this year is travelling - ALOT!!! I love travelling - my favorite destination is anywhere with a beautiful beach. The beach is my peaceful place; the sand in my toes and the sound of the waves give me so many good vibes.
Ever put together a Vision Board? Would you be willing to try it out? If yes, do you know how to go about it? If no, how about I give you a few tips that I have found helpful especially for a first timer like me.

1. First thing you need to do is have a clear outline of the goals you want to achieve this year - a goal is an aim or desired result. Your goals need to be all round i.e. covering every area of your life. What do you want to achieve emotionally, physically, spiritually? Be as specific as you can. If you can have the goals broken down to everyday achievable tasks it would be amazing.
2. Find pictures that represent your goals and inspire you. There are so many images that you can get off the internet or from old magazines. For instance, if you are a sucker for travelling like me, get pictures of your desired destination. If you want to lose weight, get photos of a well toned body that you aspire to achieve. If you desire to have a deeper relationship with God, get photos showing exactly that.
3. Make a collage of your photos. Once you are done with the pictures, get a large piece of paper - I used an embossed paper that I got from a stationery shop along River Road, Nairobi - and then stick your pictures on it. A great tip while doing this, avoid cluttering & overcrowding the pictures. Remember the Vision Board is the first thing that you will be waking up to  for inspiration. It needs to be as neat and organized as possible to just the inspiration going.
4. You can also include a couple of quotes that you love just to give you much needed inspiration when you look at your Vision Board. In addition to quotes, it;s also good to have words of affirmation to give a boost of motivation. Personally, I included my favorite Bible Verses.

5. Most importantly, once done place your Vision Board in a place that you can easily access especially first thing in the morning. I have put mine - though still a work in progress on the wall just above my bed. So you can bet that it is the first thing I look at when I get up in the morning.
6. Finally, the Vision Board can be a work in progress. It's yours so you can define what direction it takes. If you at some point feel like adding/removing items to it, please go ahead. Make your own rules on how you interact with it.
"A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dream comes true", Greg S. Reid.

Here's to making 2019 as awesome as it can be. See you in December ready with a marker to check off what you have accomplished on your Vision Board. I pray for love, light and lots of good vibes & positive energy for each and everyone of you. May the Lord guide your every step in this New Year and as we get on, this is my sincere prayer for you - Isaiah 58:11"The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail".

Much Love.
