Whispers of Kindness

Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you".

KINDNESS  IS A LANGUAGE OF THE HEART - Softly Spoke, Deeply Felt & Never Forgotten.

A couple of Sundays ago, early in the morning on my way to church I witnessed a heartbreaking incident. My heart ached not necessarily because of what was done but the reaction of the young lady involved. This young lady boarded a Matatu that was filling up but before she sat down, she got off to make a call. Once she was done and wanted to get back in, the conductor violently pushed her away insisting that she will not get back in. The young lady tried explaining that she had to make a call and the Matatu was playing loud music. The conductor - who by this time had been joined by others - kept shoving her aside insisting that she will not get back in. The lady just broke down and wailed uncontrollably. Now, anyone watching the unfolding events would wonder why she made such a fuss yet just a few meters ahead, there were other Matatus headed to the same destination. The easier option would be to quietly walk away and get another Matatu but instead, she stayed back and tearfully engaged in a back and forth until an older lady intervened and led her away from the scene. 

I couldn't help but wonder what triggered her. What weight was she carrying around that quickly found an outlet through that small misunderstanding - cause truthfully speaking - the action & reaction were like night & day. I truly empathized with her. I wished the conductor didn't behave that way because already, this young lady looked like she wasn't ok. Robbin Williams is quoted as saying "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Always be kind".
