This week the inter webs have witnessed a lot of debate on Hillsong Worship Leader/Song Writer
Marty Sampson's revelation/confession. On a since deleted Instagram post, Marty admitted that he is losing his faith - "Time for some real talk. I'm genuinely losing my faith, and it doesn't bother me. Like, what bothers me now is nothing. I am so happy now, so at peace with the world. It's crazy".
Thing is, Marty is a dope song writer and some of my Hillsong Favorites have actually been written/co-written by him - All I Need Is You, Open Heaven (River Wild), Take All Of Me among many others - so this came as a shocker. There's been a lot that has been said about his confession including how he was not a real christian to start and so I'm not about to jump on that bandwagon.
It however made me have an introspection of my own walk of faith hence - #FaithMatters. I will be lying if I tell you that I have not had moments where I questioned my own faith. Like why do I really believe in God? Why does a seemingly good God allow all the suffering that is currently being witnessed? Why do good things happen to bad people and why do bad things happen to good people? What baffles me most is the fact that God has the ability to sort us out in the twinkle of an eye, I mean He can just snap His finger and fix everything yet He wasn't!
