The Wait

So I finally got around to reading The Wait by Hollywood's cutest couple Devon Franklin & Meagan Good {#CuteKidsAlert}. If you have not, kindly grab a copy and indulge...it's a very interesting & honestly raw read. As I read through the book, I kept thinking to myself - is waiting/celibacy before marriage over-rated?, is it even possible to wait?, why wait?, among other random thoughts that I felt I needed to blog about. So here we go.  Disclaimer : Whatever thoughts expressed herein are MY OWN personal opinions coupled with Bible Verses here & there and is no way an attempt to play Moral Police so let's keep our fingers off the trigger a'ight :-) . We are living in very perilous times, so many sexual innuendos around us - from billboards to TV commercials {we all remember that cooking oil ad, yeah *wink*}, magazine spreads and don't even get me started on the numerous soap operas that have over time become such a favorite of the local TV...

God's Got It

Nairobi has for the last few years become synonymous with traffic jam and if you are a frequent Jav user you are ever so familiar with how impatient drivers & touts are to get from point A to point B. These guys have mastered with precision the various available "panya" routes to beat the traffic much to the charging of passengers. Countless number of times I've been in a jav where passengers esp. elderly women complain when the driver takes a detour to the "panya" routes. Usually, the tout ignores the whining and once the complainer realizes they are getting nowhere with their outburst, they quietly settle down. Today's early morning incident on my way to the grind was different, it got me thinking...

Don't Give Up On People

Along life's journey we encounter many challenges and sometimes they put us down - I mean we are only human and it happens to even the strongest amongst us. If I sit here and tell you of how I never get to those moments, I would be lying to you.

Note To Self - Little Reminder

Today I woke up with so many questions and had a "second - guessing - myself" kinda situation & I struggled to quiet the conversations going on in my head. I had to keep reminding myself that I may not have it all figured out but at least I have taken the first step towards achieving a couple of dreams that I've put off for a long time.   I will be honest with you, it is super scary chasing my dreams because most times I have no idea what the next step is. Yes, I may have drawn out a water tight business plan and a clearly marked road map complete with expected risks and how to mitigate them but trust me, life is a real expert at throwing curve balls. I'm the type of person who likes having things all figured out before I set out doing anything; just in case plan A fails, there is plan B right??? Well, with this one...there are no plan A's & B's, it's just me, my main plan & God. One day at a time is all I am doing. Every si...
