Day 1

Finally, Christmas is here with us and what better way to end my favorites with this simple and great sing along. As kids, whatever we used to scream   sing along to is a story for another day lol. From the entire team at Karsh Media, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. May the holidays bring light and joy to you and your family. We Wish You A Merry Christmas  We wish you a Merry Christmas We wish you a Merry Christmas We wish you a Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year Good tidings we bring To you and your kin We wish you a Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year

Day 2

Jingle Bells is definitely my list, you didn't think it would miss, did you :-). Jingle Bells Dashing through the snow, In a one horse open sleigh O'er the fields we go Laughing all the way. The bells on bob tail ring They make our spirits bright What fun it is to ride and sing A sleighing song tonight. Oh jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh,  Hey! Jingle bells jingle bells Jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh A day or two ago I thought I'd take a ride And soon Miss Fannie Bright was Seated by my side The horse was lean and lank Miss fortune seemed his lot He got into a drifted bank And we all got upset Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh, Hey! Jingle bells jingle bells Jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh

Day 7

This is another awesome Christmas Song that I absolutely love. As a young virgin, Mary conceived via the Holy Spirit and as much as she was told she would deliver the Son of God who was to be called Emmanuel, I highly doubt she fathomed the enormity of the task. I mean, how cool is it that she was carrying God's own son. Such a huge responsibility. Mary Did You Know by Kenny Rogers & Wynonna  Mary, did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? Did you know, that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you. Mary, did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary, did you know your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? Did you know, that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little baby, you've kissed the face of God. The blind will see The deaf will hear The de...

Day 8

If there is anything that the Christmas Season evokes is the spirit of giving. Don't get me wrong, giving should be an everyday thing but Christmas makes it even more special as you get to put a smile on someone's face and brighten up their holiday. I remember the first time I watched The Christmas Shoes Movie, I teared through the whole of it and the song is equally beautiful. It makes it to my favorites list. The Christmas Shoes By New Song  It was almost Christmas time There I stood in another line Tryin' to buy that last gift or two Not really in the Christmas mood Standing right in front of me was A little boy waiting anxiously Pacing 'round like little boys do And in his hands he held a pair of shoes And his clothes were worn and old He was dirty from head to toe And when it came his time to pay I couldn't believe what I heard him say Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my mama, please It's Christmas eve and these shoes are ...

Day 9

Growing up, it was very easy to know when Christmas was just around the corner. One thing that really got me excited and looking forward to the season was the awesome music by Boney M. Their Christmas album is timeless, I listen to it now and it brings back so many childhood Christmas memories. About a week or so to Christmas, Bonie M tunes were a favorite in most of the households in the neighborhood. One that I love and has stuck through the years is Feliz Navidad. I looked up the lyrics and its nothing compared to what we used to scream along to. lol Feliz Navidad By Bonie M Feliz Navidad Feliz Navidad Feliz Navidad Prospero año y felicidad Feliz Navidad Feliz Navidad Feliz Navidad Prospero año y felicidad I want to wish you a merry Christmas I want to wish you a merry Christmas I want to wish you a merry Christmas From the bottom of my heart I want to wish you a merry Christmas I want to wish you a merry Christmas I want to wish you a merry Christmas From the...

10 Days Of Christmas - Day 10

Only 10 days to Christ mas. I'm excited..... *Does a King Julian Dance* .  Different outlets are doing promos as a countdown to Christmas with some amazing offers for customers so I decided to jump on that countdown bandwagon. I will be posting my favorite Christmas Carols for each of the 10 days as we count down just to get us into that Christmas mood. :-)   Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas By Michael Buble Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on your troubles will be out of sight, yeah Have yourself a merry little Christmas Make the Yuletide gray From now on your troubles will be miles away, oh Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore, ah Faithful friends who are dear to us They gather near to us once more, ooh Through the years we all will be together and If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bow, oh yeah, oh And have yourself a merry little Christmas now, oh, oh Fa...

Whats App Group "Commandments"

I can say with certainty I'm not the only one who frowns upon such notifications - "X has added you to group Y ". This is one notification I dread especially if it's from some random character I've not communicated with in eons and from the group's name I wonder "why the fish have I been added to this group again!!!" *Rolls Eyes*. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with whats app groups but this business of being added to random groups discussing nothing constructive drives me up the wall. I wish whats app would create an authorization feature before being added to a group. Aye what happened to freedom of choice huh!!! This app should be intelligent enough to first consult with me before allowing me to be bulldozed into random annoying groups. Hold your horses, before you scream I have the freedom to leave seconds after being added...I think its very impolite {I know, double standards huh!!! but its all in an effort to maintain ...

Coke Studio Mash Up 4

*Thunderous Applause* They did it again. No doubt, Juliana & Flavor are by far my favorite combination this season. There is no single mash up of theirs that has disappointed and so #TeamJuliFlav all the way {I know, I just cooked up that name lol}. The comments on the video though hehehehe...Y'all gonna finish me with laughter. The fact that they have amazing chemistry don't mean that something happened or will happen between 'em. I just think they are two very talented individuals who when brought together created magic, so please get your minds outer there alright :-).

Crunch Time

Hello November you look pretty neat, leggoo :-). Less than 8 weeks to end of 2015 and so this is crunch time. Please stop deluding yourself that you still have lots of time before we wrap up this year. Don't procrastinate, get up and get moving.

A Lil' "Pick Me Up"

We all have those days when you just need a pick me up. {If you've never had such, please raise your hand and go sit in the self righteous corner while the rest of us indulge :D} Well, today was one of those for me, where nothing was really making sense, I had an El Nino of self doubt and felt like I was crushing under the weight of the entire universe which had been dumped on my shoulders. Ruben Studdard's I need an angel has been on replay. Quick SOS to Heaven, I needed a serious pick me up. I thank God I bumped into this motivational video by Les Brown - he is one of my all time favorite motivational speakers. A few statements got me {I had to write them down below} and were just what I needed to hear. I packed up the pity party crew and kicked 'em outta my head. Overcome the negative conversations going inside of you. Learn how to empower yourself by standing up to yourself. Watch that inner dialogue.{It is interesting how sometime we can be so hard on ourselves...

Coke Studio Mash Up 3

Another favorite from Season 3. Juliana & Flavor have awesome chemistry, makes the song more enjoyable. Their vocals are also on point in this set. Crossing my fingers that these two get to the coke studio album. Yes, I have already voted for them :-). Enjoy

Coke Studio Mash Up 2

I'll be on about this for the entire season of Coke Studio so just play along :-). Now, my 2nd favorite mash up from Season 3 is 2Face & Vanessa Mdee. First time I watched their performance I was like naah, ain't feeling this one. I played it a 2nd time just to be sure I don't feel it and surprisingly enough, it grew on me. It's fun and danceable beat got me hook. Not to mention the lyrics:  {Not too sure on some of the wordings though} Ni Moyo wako, tenda mazuri  Jifurahishe na jikubali, Ni jukumu lako how you live your life,  So live it like you should, don't live ..... and don't forget to dance* Usijali maneno ya wanaopiga kelele,  We songea kati kwa shangwe na vigelegele* Today being a chilly & rainy day, this song is definitely top of my playlist to shake off the cold. Enjoy.

Coke Studio Mash Up 1

Coke Studio is back again and the mashups that have debuted are awesome. Whoever came up with the idea is a super genius. In the spirit of sharing, I'm gonna be posting a few here. Mostly the ones that I fancy. To start with, Julianna & Flavor did such an amazing job on their set. Listening & watching this just gave me goose-bumps. Not to mention the chemistry between them oh la la la la. When you get two amazing artists & pair them up, explosive. Indulge.

Taking Stock

Happy New Month :-).  We are already in October, only two months to go and we bid 2015 kwaheri. This year has flown by so fast but I'm grateful to God for the abundant grace to get through most of what I had put my mind to when it started. Have I accomplished everything? Of course not!! Till we get to December 31st 11.59:59, I still have time to wrap up my 2015 projects.. or so I encourage myself .  At times, we rush through life trying to get things done and ensure that we provide a comfortable life for ourselves & families that we forget to stop, take a deep breathe and just let the cold air make its way through our lungs slowly. I'm guilty of getting so caught up in the rat race that is my day to day life that more often than not I've lost sight of what is important. It got so bad that for a long time I operated like a zombie, wake up - grind - study - eat - sleep & the cycle begins again. All this changed though. One day while on my way home there was s...

Motivational Monday

This past weekend I had the chance of attending a couple of meetings and left inspired and charged up so I figured I really need to share - sharing is caring :-). Indulge, and hopefully once you're done reading and watching the few videos I'll post you will not only be inspired but also have an unquenchable urge to get out of your own way and utilize whatever God has given you. Coincidentally, today's Rick Warren Daily Devotional  What Will You Do With What You're Given   touched on the very same thing I learnt over the weekend. It kinda felt like God was trying to drum in the message . How many times have you made excuses about not pursuing that dream you have? Are there times when you've started and frozen midway worrying about what people will say? Have you encountered a challenge & felt like giving up, throwing your arms in the air & screaming - "I'M DONE NEVER AGAIN"? Ever felt your dream is a duplicate/triplicate - so many others have d...

New Music Alert

Gloria Muliro is definitely one of my all time favorite artists. She has a new jam which has been on replay since it released. The video has been shot in an amazingly beautiful location not to mention how sizzling mwoto she looks in this video. Ingelikuwa Mungu anauliza mwanadamu, jinsi ya kumtendea mwanadamu, Basi mimi nisingekuwa jinsi nilivyo, hata tena nisingekuwa mahali nilipo, Ungeambiwa sifai, wangekukanya vikali, Ungekumbushwa dhambi zangu za kale, Baba yoyo Unabariki unayependa ah, Unabariki unavyopenda ah, Mimi, nahitaji eh, Nahitaji ndio oh yako Yesu tu, Nahitaji ndio oh yako Yesu tu, Ninataka ndio oh yako Yesu tu, Ndio yako ndio itanisimamisha, Ndio yako itanifungulia milango, In short, the only validation you need is from Christ Jesus. Many at times we go looking for validation and acceptance from all the wrong places and we end up getting hurt and disappointed. As long as Jesus says YES, keep rocking ain't nobody gonna stand in your way c...

Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

So about two weekends ago - should've been 29th August 2015, finals for the IAAF World Athletics Championships 2015 were held in Beijing, China. From church on a lazy Sunday afternoon and channel flipping, I bumped into the broadcast of the finals on Idhaa ya Taifa - KBC. Since there was already a lot of buzz on how Kenya was kicking donkey in the championships and was well on its way to topping the medals table I figured why not indulge. The adrenaline when you're cheering for #TeamKenya is crazy, at some point I almost fell off the seat with excitement during the men's 1500m final. Two races caught my attention and left me pondering on how they relate to how we live life. The men's 1500m final and the men's 4*400 Meters Relay final. The 1500m was won by Kenya's Asbel Kiprop while the 4*400m relay was won by #TeamAmerica.     Asbel Kiprop was the defending champion and obvious favorite to take gold in the 1500m but when the race started, he was com...

Crush Chronicles - Season 1

Crush - a brief  and usually temporary intense infatuation for someone, especially someone unattainable. A crush is meant to be light and fun. It's never that serious. It is however vital to be cautious it does not move from being fun to being downright dark and destructive - the line is very thin. I've had a few MAJOR crushes the last couple of years and now that I look back, I can't help but be amused at how they got me behaving like a sweet 16. {Disclaimer: They were all light & fun. There was no stalking neither was there any damage caused LOL} One bright sunny afternoon during lunch break while lounging and having lunch at the office balcony overlooking the parking lot,  a towering well groomed character {let's call him TDH - Tall| Dark| Handsome} walks across to the other side of the office block and I almost choke on my food. His steps, carefully calculated and each touching the ground with so much confidence signalling a go getter who knows what he ...

Keep The Damn Phone Away

There is a certain quote attributed to Albert Einstein, though there has been debate as to its authenticity and connection to him...."I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots ". Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls welcome to the age of Smartphones. There is no denying that Smartphones have made communication so much easier but they have created a new nightmare  - loss of human interaction. I'm sure once in a while you have been caught up in instances where every fibre of your being screams KEEP THE DAMN PHONE AWAY . Most of the time, I restrain myself from giving a pep talk on how it won't kill to have that phone away for an hour or two. 1. Out On A Date Ever been out on a lunch/coffee/dinner date with someone you haven't seen in eons and they are constantly on their phone? That can mean one of two things - either your company is boring and they are too polite to let you know so ...

Get Up, Dust Off & Keep Moving

I remember an incident when I was about 7/8 years old  playing outside with friends trying out some somersault moves. We were having so much fun and the best part of the game was outdoing each other and having the best complete somersault move. Those who couldn't do a complete one were mercilessly taunted and laughed at. Borrowed Image Not wanting to be laughed at, I of course pulled my best moves and was the pro for the many rounds we did. Well, that was until I was thrown off balance and unceremoniously landed on my right arm with a huge thud. My arm hit a stone and the end result of the impact was an open fracture {need to know how bad it was? a couple of decades later, I still have a scar on my arm}. A bleeding arm and a bone sticking out were not enough to deter me from doing somersaults; after crying for a couple of minutes due to the pain I was back in the game. No need to stop having fun just because of some minor inconvenience, it wasn't worth it. In retrosp...

Forgiveness - A Personal Journey

For quite a long time I struggled with the issue of forgiveness - I mean complete, total, unreserved, unconditional & honest forgiveness. My defense - I've been wronged so I have every right to be as angry as I want and for as long as I want, f or months even . Trust me, the many sermons on forgiveness were not making sense because I wasn't understanding how God expects me to just forgive someone who has wronged me and shows no trace of remorse or even being sorry. Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't an entirely unforgiving person - it's one thing to forgive someone who recognizes they've hurt you and apologizes & it's an entirely different ballgame forgiving someone who hurt you and isn't bothered. They may have hurt you unknowingly or even done something that to them isn't much of a big deal but for you, it hurts you to the core. Many at times when it comes forgiveness, you may find yourself at a crossroad. The dilemma of whether to for...

Loved-Up Lounge Welcome

Love makes the world go round, or so they made us believe - who came up with that anyway lol. That aside, welcome to this super segment where we will be delving into matters of the heart. And no, I ain't no love doc but experience is the best teacher ain't it. Maybe we should we just call this "Ask Aunty Karsh", but then again sounds too corny; so NO. Loved-Up Lounge it is :-). Disclaimer: The Loved-Up Lounge posts steer clear of dealing with issues from the marriage point of view cause that is a complex area of which I have neither the experience nor expertise. Most of my posts tackle matters from the point of view of a committed relationship as that is what I understand and have experience of. Hopefully, in a couple of years I will be able to write from a married person's perspective :-).

Oceans {Where Feet May Fail} by Christafari

For anyone going through a tough season, here is an encouragement and a reminder that God has you. When you face uncertainty, remember the God who made you and knit you together in your mother's womb will give you grace enough to face your situations. You call me out upon the waters The great unknown where feet may fail And there I find You in the mystery In oceans deep My faith will stand And I will call upon Your name And keep my eyes above the waves When oceans rise My soul will rest in Your embrace For I am Yours and You are mine Your grace abounds in deepest waters Your sovereign hand Will be my guide Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me You've never failed and You won't start now So I will call upon Your name And keep my eyes above the waves When oceans rise My soul will rest in Your embrace For I am Yours and You are mine Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders Let me walk upon the waters Wherever You would call me Take m...

Testing One! Two! Three!

Achew, this place be very dusty mien!!! Wow, you never realize how hard it is to maintain a blog and always have it up to date until you ACTUALLY start one. When on the outside looking in, it does seem so easy. All you have to do is sit on your laptop and type away and click the publish button...errrr!!! no. As I have discovered, it takes quite a lot of commitment and consistency. Most times, I have actually forgotten my blog password, yeah shoot me lol . Of late though, I have had so many thoughts running through my mind which cannot be done justice by the 140 character limit on Twitter, not much of a Facebooker either {actually not even on Facebook}. Tried IG, but that has also proven a bit difficult; who wants to read long and winding posts on IG??.. like seriously . So, that brought me back to my online space - my blog. Operative word here,  MY :-) I Karsh, pledge that I will be faithful in maintaining consistency in posting on my blog. There we have it. Let the wri...

Happy 2015

So finally 2015 is here with us. I love the optimism that 2015 has come with. There is so much positivity around me with people I interact with embracing the new year and setting out to just live it up. I am excited about 2015. For me, its another opportunity to be alive and set out to do what I was not able to accomplish in 2014. I start out the year on a positive note, on a "let go and let God" note, on a gratitude spree. No resolutions, no long range plans, just taking one day at a time is all I plan to do this year. Exhaust what a day can offer and move on to the next. Breaking down my goals to tiny achievable bits is way better than having chunks and chunks of plans which I may never get around to accomplishing. Here's to a new year....go out, live it up and rock it. Let December 2015 find you awesome. Happy New Year.
